About the Cottage

Built by our grandparents in 1942, this quintessential New England summer cottage on the lake has been a beloved family retreat for generations.

Summers here were filled with lobster bakes, corn on the cob, hand-cranked ice cream, and homemade pies featuring freshly-foraged wild blue berries. We spent every day on the lake swimming and lolling about on the raft with dragonflies, paddling canoes and kayaks. Books, sketching, playing cards, and puzzles occupied quiet evenings.

Not much has changed, although these days occasional online screen-time coexists with the good old-fashioned porch screen time.

Now that we’re grown and flown with commitments that preclude whiling away entire summers on the lake, for select weeks each season, we share this home away from home with a few trusted rental guests.
