Pandemic-Responsive Terms & Conditions for Massage

Hello, Gorgeous!

After a long pandemic-induced hiatus, I’m delighted to announce that we can resume massage therapy. Per Proclamation 20-241, LMTs are permitted to return to practice in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the proclamation.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS & RISK MITIGATION

Because we are all potentially asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic carriers for this virus, when we choose to work together, we are each agreeing to assume the risk associated with the rewards of this work. It should go without saying, but I’m going to say it anyway, as consenting adults responsible for our own healthcare, it is ultimately our choice to proceed with treatment based on our own respective risk assessments.

With that in mind, please be advised that although we will observe as much social distancing as possible during sessions, there is no way to maintain the recommended social distance of 6ft+ while giving and receiving hands-on treatment.

To mitigate risks of infection, both practitioners and clients are currently required to wear face masks during our sessions for as long as masks are mandated. I realize that this is less-than-ideal, but it is currently required of us—and well, masked massage is better than no massage, n’est pas? (Unless it isn’t, in which case, I hope to see you when mask-wearing is no longer required).

I will continue to observe the standard precautions (such as hand/arm-washing, changing linens, and sanitizing the table) before and after each session. I will also be sanitizing all common area surfaces, including doors, handles, and light switches between each client.

COVID-19 symptoms include:

  • fever or chills
  • cough
  • shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
  • fatigue
  • muscle/body aches
  • headache
  • new loss of taste or smell
  • sore throat
  • congestion/runny nose
  • nausea/vomiting
  • diarrhea

I ask that we all exercise greater caution and consideration by scheduling and attending appointments only when you and all those around you are healthy as far as you know.

I also suggest discussing your interest in receiving massage therapy with those in your intimate circle, given the risks, so you can make your decision with careful consideration of all those potentially affected.

If you know you’ve been exposed, are exhibiting symptoms, or tested positive, please reschedule your appointment and self-quarantine for 14 days.

Likewise, I will only offer massage when I and my circle of contacts are healthy as far as I know. If our studio is exposed to COVID-19, I will inform those potentially affected via text, email, and/or phone calls, and shut down all services immediately, followed by the requisite quarantine and disinfection protocols.

NEW PANDEMIC-RESPONSIVE SESSION CLIENT PROTOCOLS

If you choose to receive a massage, these are new client protocols:

Please take your temperature before you arrive. A temperature of 100.4°F or higher is considered a fever and you will have to reschedule your appointment when you are fever free for 24 hours, without fever reducing medicine.

Please refrain from bringing any food, drink, jewelry, or anything unessential into the massage studio.

Please use the washroom to wash your hands thoroughly for a minimum of 20 seconds preceding treatment.

Please bring and wear your mask.

CANCELLATIONS

I get it. Life happens.

And I require 48 hours notice to cancel or change appointments once we have scheduled. This will increase the likelihood of someone else being able to receive care during that time, and give me adequate time to prepare and plan accordingly.

With the exception of true emergencies, all cancellations or changes to an existing appointment with less than 48 hours notice will incur the full charge for the session.

APPRECIATION

Last, but definitely not least, thank you for your ongoing support and gracing my practice with your presence. If I can offer any additional information, please feel free to connect directly via phone/text (206.780.2998), or email.

Please book as inspired! I can’t wait to get my hands on you! :)

Oodles of love and appreciation,

Karen
